Students of ATC Fellows Report Higher Engagement

A recent survey of students taught by Arkansas Teacher Corps fellows found that students' self-reported class engagement has increased since September 2019, the last time the survey was administered. However, students also indicated a decrease in grit, or the ability to persevere in order to achieve a goal. These results suggest that students may be excited by the return to in-person learning but may struggle to stay on task.

ATC Hires 2 Alumni as New Staff

Arkansas Teacher Corps is excited to announce two new hires for the 2021-22 school year! Whitney Carter and Jamie Powell were 2018 ATC Fellows and just completed the 3-year fellowship this past May. Both have worked with ATC in part-time roles supporting incoming first-year teachers at the summer institute. Their experiences as fellows will be an invaluable asset to ATC as we work to recruit, train, and retain an even larger cohort of teacher-fellows in the Arkansas Delta!
