It’s great to see Arkansas Teacher Corps alumni being celebrated nationally for the tremendous work they do. Congratulations to 2020 Arkansas Teacher Corps fellow and 5th year Pine Bluff teacher TyKesha Cross for this inspiring feature on the TODAY Show!

Recorded on the first day of school, the segment aired on Wednesday, August 23. Not only does TyKesha share the emotional story of her journey to the classroom with TODAY correspondent Priscilla Thompson, but she’s also surprised by an on-air visit from the mentor she credits with saving her life, former Dollarway HS counselor and principal Yolanda Prim. We couldn’t be prouder of TyKesha, her husband Dedrick (who was a 2017 ATC Fellow), and all the amazing things they are doing to support their scholars and the Pine Bluff School District.
