Arkansas Teacher Corps made a quick pivot to virtual coaching when COVID hit Arkansas schools in 2020. Since then, our team's focus on continual learning and improvement have led us to formalize a technology plan, fully implement a comprehensive virtual coaching platform, and see our teacher-fellows make unprecedented gains: increased teacher satisfaction, retention, and growth.
Meeting together in-person for the first time since February 2021, the Arkansas Teacher Corps staff met at the beautiful DeGray Lake State Park Resort in Bismarck, AR for a beginning-of-year kickoff retreat. Over the course of two days, the ATC team learned more about each other, normed on expectations for communication and collaboration, and set shared goals for recruiting and retaining even more fellows in the Arkansas Delta.
“Growing Where Needed: A Strategic Plan for 2020-2025” highlights nine main priorities that will allow us to double the number of fellows supported each year, ultimately reaching over 40,000 students and saving nearly $2,000,000 through increased efficiencies.
ATC has continued to grow but the fundamental need remains unmet. As we celebrate the coming of a new year, it is important that we take time to reflect on the past. Your input is critical as we set goals and priorities, not just for next year but for the next five! Learn more about ATC's progress and the strategic planning process here.
