Arkansas Teacher Corps and Teach Plus Arkansas partnered to co-host a Twitter chat about self-care on September 27, 2022. September is designated as National Self-Care Awareness Month.

ATC executive director Brandon Lucius and Teach Plus Arkansas director Stacey McAdoo engaged educators across the state in a conversation about holistic wellness for both students and teachers. Over the course of an hour, attendees grappled with five questions about emotional resilience and self-care:

1. Introduce yourself by stating your name and the grade level you teach
2. What do you do in the moment to calm yourself?
3. What do you do to set boundaries and how do you go about doing it?
4. What’s a quick tip or words of advice that you can offer for a new teacher about practicing self-care?
5. What can or should be added to the school environment to enhance the promotion of self-care for educators?
6. What can or should be added to the school environment to enhance the promotion of self-care for students?
