On Saturday, November 11, Arkansas Teacher Corps fellows and staff met at Chicot Elementary in Little Rock for the second All Corps professional development of the 2023-24 year. In the morning, fellows learned student engagement and transformational teaching strategies to use in the classroom. After lunch catered by Star of India, fellows split into eight content-specific groups to develop knowledge and skills relevant to their content area, such as practicing literary analysis strategies in ELA and utilizing small groups to implement RTI in elementary. In survey feedback, 94% reported that these sessions helped them grow as a facilitator of their content and another 94% reported having the ongoing support from ATC that they need to be successful.
