Makayla Fitzhugh, former student of Arkansas Teacher Corps alumna Jordan Humphreys (ATC ’13), was recently featured in a University of Arkansas news story about several U of A programs that promote opportunities and success for all students in our state. Ms. Humphreys was a member of ATC’s inaugural cohort that launched in 2013 and one of Makayla’s middle school teachers at KIPP Delta Public Schools in Helena, AR.
“As someone who experienced her teaching first-hand, I can say that she’s an amazing teacher,” Fitzhugh said… “To most, she wasn’t just a teacher. She was more like a second mom. Inside the classroom, she made sure that all of her students felt welcomed and comfortable.”
