In October, new ATC teacher development managers Kandace McDonald (ATC ’17), Nneka Love (ATC ’19), and Freda Calloway (ATC ’20) travelled to Lawrence, KS to attend The Instructional Coaching Group’s 5-day Intensive Instructional Coaching Institute with Jim Knight to continue building their coaching skills. All of ATC’s coaches have now been through this training. The Jim Knight institute is one of seven programs certified by the Arkansas Department of Education to provide the coaching training required to be an experienced mentor teacher in Arkansas. All ATC staff are also completing the 8-day Cognitive Coaching training offered by the Thinking Collaborative.
