ATC Staff Attend National Rural Ed Conference

ATC staff traveled to Savannah, GA at the end of October to attend the National Forum to Advance Rural Education. ATC executive director Brandon Lucius led a learning session to present on ATC’s innovative efforts to recruit and retain a diverse, homegrown teacher workforce. ATC managing director Lizzy Hetherington, ATC teacher development director Kendra Ide, and ATC recruiter Whitney Carter attended sessions on various topics related to the unique circumstances of leading and teaching in rural communities. ATC staff also took advantage of the opportunity to network with rural education leaders from across the nation, as well as the unique opportunity to see historic Savannah on a walking “ghost tour” the night of Halloween.
